ONE STEP ABOVE is a group of artistic young urban professionals who grew tired of the regular and average club scene of Atlanta and other major cities. In search of an alternative to “bumping and grinding” the group One Step Above made it their mission to educate both teenagers and adults that there was a classy alternative to dancing.
Intertwinning some of today's moves with the traditional culture of Chicago Stepping, Detroit Ballroom and Soul Line Dances, the group has developed a style that has brought us back to the days of "Ole" when people really danced.
An era when a woman could spend a night out on the town an not be concerned if she would asked to dance by a gentlemen. A time when a man did not have to worry about asking a lady to dance and being told no. It is true that history continuously repeats itself and we find ourselves going back to a time when we once truly danced!
ONE STEP ABOVE has had the privelage of working with some of today's hottest artist, as well as, providing instruction to students all across the country. In 2007, the group was honored with the distinguished award of “Best Choreography” by the Usher Raymond New Look Summer Camp. The group competed with the likes of Omarion, and a host of other celebrity choreographers. One Step Above has also performed with the Canton Jones, DJ UNK, G Garvin, Anthony David, MTV MADE and appeared in the movie Stomp The Yard. We are One Step Above.

Classes can be coordinated to meet the needs of students and patrons at your gym fitness center, business,community, college/university, high school, home, or church.
